Stephenson Harwood confirms UK Renewables Academy 2024 in conjunction with HKA and Teesside University.

Following on from the success of the previous two UK Renewables Academies, Stephenson Harwood LLP confirms its continued partnership with the UK Renewables Academy in conjunction with HKA and Teesside University. The next Introduction to Offshore Wind course will take place in Teesside on 10-13 September 2024.

The course, specifically targeted at educating industry professionals involved in energy about offshore wind and hydrogen will give participants a comprehensive view of offshore wind projects, covering topics such as the UK wind market, major players, farm identification, ownership, contracting, foundations, floating wind, construction, insurance and hydrogen production. On the final day of the course, delegates will climb a turbine tower, undertake sea survival training in a pool and travel on a crew transfer vessel to see an offshore wind farm in operation.

"We are delighted to once again be involved in this unique course. It is brilliant to get the opportunity to spend a week with around 80 individuals who are working in the offshore wind sector. Last year, there were delegates from several countries and from a great selection of organisations throughout the supply chain. Getting such a deep insight from leaders in their respective sub-sectors is superb considering how quickly the offshore sector continues to develop" said Cathal Leigh-Doyle, partner, Stephenson Harwood. "We look forward to welcoming the third cohort to Teesside University in September 2024."

Cathal Leigh-Doyle and Max Lemanski from Stephenson Harwood's offshore energy team will provide the legal sessions on the course. Other speakers include Heerema, Ternan Energy, Port of Blyth, Boskalis and Protium Green Solutions.
